A CoTraveler is someone who shares the journey with you. Whether that is a remote homestay host welcoming you at dusk, a brand sponsoring a local project, or a creative traveler bringing their camera—we are all navigating the same path toward a better travel model.
How It Started
CoTraveler began by observing two simultaneous gaps. In our cities, talented young designers, writers, educators, and photographers want to explore their country, understand rural traditions, and create work that matters. But they lack the resources to travel.
At the same time, in rural communities globally—including our pilot destinations across Bangladesh, Turkey, India, Sri Lanka, Nepal, and Mauritius—incredible homestays, community tourism initiatives, and small farms struggle to get noticed. They do not have booking profiles, high-quality photographs, or websites. They are invisible to the digital traveler.
We realized that these two groups have exactly what the other needs. By connecting them directly and funding the transition via the Together Fund, we create an exchange where no cash changes hands, but immense value is created.
Why Sustainable Geography Matters
In many countries, tourism is heavily concentrated in a few overstressed areas. These sites suffer from rapid commercialization, waste issues, and resource strain, while dozens of equally beautiful regions see almost no visitors or income.
CoTraveler deliberately channels placements to lesser-visited communities in Bangladesh, Turkey, India, Sri Lanka, Nepal, and Mauritius. We want to spread tourism dollars and showcase the diverse landscapes, languages, and cultures of these regions without overwhelming local resources.
